Fiona has been a student of yoga for more than thirty years, and has been teaching since 1992, when she gained her SYTA Diploma.
She has served in a number of roles on the Committees of first Edinburgh and Lothians Yoga Association, then Fife Yoga Group, and was Chairperson of Yoga Scotland from 2004 to 2008.
Starting yoga classes from an interest in asana work and relaxation she developed her knowledge and interest in pranayama, meditation, mudra and bhanda with the much-loved Phil Jones, who was a frequent visitor to Scotland. She originally started on the teacher training course in order to learn more about the philosophy, and has learned that the wisdom of the ancient texts is the foundation of all practice.
She believes that yoga can bring about fundamental change if we allow it to happen, that yoga is a tool for living in this time and on this earth, and that there is always more to learn.
